Except your entire post explains precisely how and why one could and should compare and contrast a music scene to a thousand year old cult.

If 1/3 of metal heads did something remotely violent in a manner to secure a particular movement, maybe being metal could be compared to anything of a political agenda, but there is no such activity. There is only over the top looking albums and endless drunk stoners talking talk or being content with collecting.

The days of the sword and forcing concepts onto a society are done, and the winners have never let go of it, and never will. They are so entrenched now only planetary catastrophe will affect it. Metal and the scene is nothing more and about as equivelant as gay pride parades and those late night pathetic African children need food and meds infomercials. Metal is a joke except the part of it just being a personal enjoyment of art, there is nothing more to it than that, and unlikely ever will be.

Because people who are inclined to be religious tend to be more conservative, especially if they're not clustered in northeastern cities.

Liberalism is a mental disease.

Ordering something say on the 5th, then sending three emails the next day on the 6th asking if they got it and if it shipped yet, each time the anxiety level of each email rapidly increasing.
Then on the 7th filing a paypal claim maybe? Razz

That is one metal mental issue. Laughing

The next most prominent one is HAVING to have every single version, the creased one, the other colored one, the scratched one, and the one that smells like ass. Life is not complete without all of them, you need to have them or you will die probably of worry.

I'm interested in hearing his/her the reply to this.
Some would falsely equate those that compare a political ideology to a mental disease as a from of retardation. Of course that would be conceptually as silly as the original idea. A closer comparison would be to that of a good ol' fashioned asshole severely lacking in critical thinking skills. This philosopher's posts are always highly entertaining though.

If the days of the sword are over then would it not be the wrong strategy to engage in violent public acts?

Anyway, to speak of political agendas is to get ahead of oneself, if not completely miss the point. Christianity is not a politics. Christianity may influence politics, and metal may, one day, influence politics in a very very indirect and roundabout way, but I don't think anyone is looking for anything "official."

To dismiss this discussion out of hand is to be ahead of oneself, all over the place, assuming, literal-minded, and reliant on straw men. In a word, boring.

These days aren't over, if you act as a big group. As an individual or small group, it's pointless. See how these politicians bow before islamists, ghetto scum or some violent peasant movements in the case of France too. They do exert violence, but in the end, despite some police shows from time to time, nothing serious is done against them, be it by the sword or by other means.

Our own states know how to exert violence too, when they want to suppress "violent" demonstrations, or when they wage war in foreign countries "to help them build democracy" (while our Western society possesses some democratic aspects, but isn't a real democracy).

Come on Conservationist. I think an interesting conversation could be had here.
