Anyone with inside info on STERBEND (Ger) ? "On hold" is current status at MA. Truly one of the best bands in their cathegory.

Personally I think it would be a lot better off if it were labeled as its own seperate genre... like maybe "gloom metal" I dunno... but whenever I listen to it I certainly don't think to myself "I'm listening to black metal" I like to think of it as its own distinct genre and when I do listen to it I also like to pretend it doesn't have such a gay following. A lot of the music is fantastic art and amazing to listen to when you're "in tthat mood", but it's not black metal in my opinion and shouldn't be labeled as such. I also don't thin it's a genre that would be a whole lot better without any type of "scene" behind it, it would do a lot better off as something that was of only private personal individual taste, and if the genre discouraged "group followings". So those are two things I think would fix dsbm... label it as it's own seperate genre and make it a genre that is against "group followings" or "scene's" behind it. If that happened then it would be a perfect genre...

The 'scene' and even the musicians to huge extents can be pretentious faggots; some of the music is definitely good when you're in mood an don't take it too seriously. Of course unless you're NK7 and want some good riffs to headbang to, served by technically impressive musicians who are beyond their 40th winter at least.
As for Sterbend, I have no clue, they were good Burzum clone. |
