To this topic I include the Canadians "Deaf Dealer."
Most of you may know them by their sole album (official) Keeper of the Flame. A good record. But it is their unreleased effort, Journey Into Fear, that takes top honors.
With tracks like "To Hell and Back," or "Back to the Gods' Country," this piece shows off killer guitar licks and some proficient bass playing. This album can surely become a protagonist in some of you guys' listening habits.
Now go... and listen.... |

Deaf Dealer were viewed as an Iron Maiden clone in the 80's. Even though their music is stellar, this caused negative feedback and poor sales. Thus the label canned the album in fear of no revenue.
The band fought the label but this only created ill feelings between them. And as a result the record company decided to keep the rights of the album, to never release it, or to let anyone else do so either.
Bizarre and unfortunate, I say. |

Absolutely! I can hear the Maiden in it, but how that's bad is beyond me. It's a lot faster and more aggressive than Maiden too. Killer record, just found a download for it. Thanks again for the tip! _________________

What is Speed Metal ?
For me Abattoir, Raven and bands like Omen, Helloween, or Running Wild are Heavy Metal.
VECTOM, NOISEHUNTER or S.D.I. are Speed Metal. _________________

But my top 5 speed metal records are:
motorhead - overkill
motorhead - bomber
motorhead - ace of spades
motorhead - iron fist
motorhead - rock'n'roll
Ok... now this time without using motorhead
zadkiel - hell's bomber
voivod
warfare
tank
rogue male - first visit
first 4 exciter albums
gehhenah
baphomet's blood
inepsy
kat
crossfire - second attack
too lazy to pick just one album from some of those bands
But I did want to mention I recently discovered a really fucking good speed metal band that's fairly new from canada called striker, don't like the crisp production on the newest album but the music is really fucking good speed metal. At first listen one may confuse it for power metal because of the crisp soaring vocals and production value but it's definatly just straight up good speed metal.
