Am I to assume that Volahn LP is hard to find now?

You can find it easily for $20 or less.

I agree on the similarity, and that this album is horribly underrated. I like the Olden Domain a lot as well. Garm's clean vocals are great. Never cared for Arcturus much though.

Awesome album too, and quite underrated!

Thanks for the suggestion guys!

What do you think about demo 'Vargnatt'? Sounding similar to Nattens?

Rawer and weirder. Great stuff.

"Vargnatt" has also a strong VED BUENS ENDE vibe, to obvious reasons.

I kinda got that vibe from Shade from Quebec.

I don't hear that with Borknagar. Oystein's riff/melody style is totally different, more comparable to some Enslaved if even to that... unique to say the least.

I just remembered this bit was a direct ripoff of Nattens Madrigal and Satanic Art http://youtu.be/Q_81hb9EPto?t=6m59s

Well, exhume this old thread following the trends of Ulver topic infesting the board in these days.

So, the question remains, no Nattens Madrigal related gems?

Finnish band Rautavaris and especially their demo "Suden Lapset"

I was about the say Rautavaris' demo from 2008, but I've just seen that Kathral did so two years ago already, which is why I can only lay stress on this very recommendation. "Suden Lapset" is a wonderful demo, there's the sick, buzzing guitar tone that immediately reminds of the "Nattens Madrigal", and it definitely has this raw, trenchant frenzy going on that makes "Nattens Madrigal" this vicious.

Mentioning Rautavaris isn't a hook for the coming shameless self-promotion, but I still have a few copies of "Suden Lapset" left for sale in case anybody is interested. I ask for 3 Euro plus shipping.

There was a USBM band around in the myspace era called Wormtongue, that was such overt Ulver worship it was almost pastiche. Nevertheless, this track is Nattens worship done pretty well:

KAEVUM. Nothing touches this band in their style. Like a mix of Nattens Madrigal and Bergtatt clean vocals. Pure majesty.
