Iron Maiden's the big one. I've only listened to a couple of their albums and it was years ago when i was just a little kid. At the time, the choice was Metallica or Iron Maiden, and Maiden just wasn't edgy/dark enough for me. Then Slayer quickly followed and it was all downhill from there.
Judas Priest too. They were too "weak" for me when I was a kid so I never payed them much attention. Still don't care. |
this is true for me as well, Sab and MF being the main exceptions.
hated Maiden growing up, being into punk/hardcore. wasn't fast enough, noisy enough, too melodic. _________________ my records

Moonblood are hit and miss....they released alot of tapes, etc. then were hyped for years, now no one seems to mention them, but anyway, all you really need by them is their Blut Und Krieg album, that one is excellent and something of a classic, but it probably would be very hard to find these days. _________________ "By all evidence we are in the world to do nothing."

I'm not a big fan of Kiss, but I think their Animalize album is rokkin, you could probably find the lp cheap somewhere. _________________ "By all evidence we are in the world to do nothing."

| Up until recently I would have said Scorpions - always thought they were some hair metal band or something. Boy was I wrong, 70s material is now some of my favourite music ever. Same goes for Tygers of Pan Tang - goofy name and album covers put me off. |

thread reminded me I've never really listened to Immolation... if a song were playing, I definitely wouldn't be able to pick it out _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |

I don't know, there's really nothing else out there that sounds like Immolation, less you're talking about Dawn of Possession.
I hated Immolation when I first heard them. |

Same here, I would never give them a shot since they were undisputed glam. Somehow I heard "Sails of Charon" for the first time maybe like 2 years ago, and was/am completely blown away. _________________ http://kleptocracy.bandcamp.com/

The biggest one i'm guilty of passing on is Motörhead (minus the song Ace of Spades). _________________

This. Never really heard anything that stuck with me, but I'm open to recommendations. _________________
