good jazz
also the Dödfödd demo 10 had no vocals, it would have been superb with some but still was quite good as is. |

Little known Ontario project TIME OF DEATH is for the most part instrumental, except for the first full-length as far as I know. Original and underrated IMO. _________________ Malaria

I have Stratosfear and Phaedra. Where should I head next? Their discography is colossal. |
I'd recommend heading backwards from Phaedra. Their first four albums (Electronic Meditation, Alpha Centuari, Zeit, Atem) are my personal favourites and you can see hear the development from the more improv psych rock sound of the first couple of albums to the synth stuff of Atem and Phaedra. I've never bothered with much after Stratosfear, as the one album I heard after this had some god-awful singing on it. Nah, stick to the earlier stuff.
As for the original topic, I've played in a couple of instrumental metal bands (Astral Womb and War Ethic) and pretty much any metal types who heard us seemingly couldn't get past the fact there was no grunting, shrieking etc over the top. This always amused as, especially as it didn't bother any associates who didn't listen (exclusively) to metal. Personally I think metal with no vox is fine as long as the music is interesting/immersive enough, but many apparently don't. (obviously this is all subjective)
Not saying we were "great", but might be worth a listen (lofi and diy)...
