Just spinning Clandestine and imagining this record with LG on vocals instead of Nicke. Admirable effort and all but with LG doing what he did on LHP this would have been a different beast altogether.
Not a great fan of the Death n' Roll stuff later on, but first three records are still as killer today as they've ever been |

I like LHP, especially the title track though have Entombed down the queue a bit when it comes to my preferred Swedish death metal bands. |

I don't have any problem with the vocals on Clandestine. Then again i actually prefer Clandestine to LHP. I agree about the first three records when i'm in the mood for it Wolverine Blues and Hollowman are great.
i only really like half of To Ride...Though. |

Clandestine and Left Hand Path are great albums... not really a fan of Wolverine Blues and never heard anything after that actually... |

Clandestine is hands down the best Entombed album for me. Perfect production, vocals, sound, riffs and songs. I like LHP but I think it's nowhere near as good as it's hyped to be. Wolverine Blues is also ok for a spin once or twice a year.
I've never been interested to hear any of the other/later Entombed stuff really. |

The demo, LHP and Crawl are fucking crucial! I have never been able to fully dig Clandestine due to the vocals. |

Yeah Left Hand Path isn't all that. Although the vibe is pretty awesome and bleak. I prefer the Nihilist material.
Clandestine is certainly a classic. _________________ "If noise means uncomfortable sound. Then pop is noise to me" - Masami Akita. |

Definitely don't agree that LHP is overrated. The best song is indeed the first one though, maybe that's the problem? Still think it's one of the best DM records, along with Altars of Madness. |

I've always been one of the few who prefer Clandestine over Left Hand Path.
I have no problems with the vocals at all.
That said, I still rate Left Hand Path as a near perfect Death Metal record. |

I love Nicke's vocals on Clandestine. Wolverine Blues is good for an occasional spin. In regards to the later stuff, Morningstar is a killer album as well. |

Well technically the third album already falls into the D'n'R category but of course I agree with you on that the early releases completely overshadow everything they released later. I do enjoy a couple of tracks off Serpent Saints though.
How's this band live nowadays? Do they still play songs from the first two albums or is it just the later stuff with a short medley of the classic death metal period? _________________ Permabanned |
