FANTASTIC NEWS! Best and darkest Abscess material, "Through..." is a masterpiece. We had talked in here about why it wasnt pressed onto wax and I was hoping NWN would do it but Peaceville demanded too much... Well at least it'll see the light of day. Can't wait... |
Music & cover art definitely deserve the vinyl treatment.

Let's face it, reforming a (death) metal band is more often than not a pretty awful idea when it comes to the artistical side of it. Other than Asphyx, Archgoat and may be 1-2 more, I can't think of other classic bands releasing truly groundbreaking stuff after a long hiatus, see Pestilence, Purtenance, Angel Corpse, Burzum, Morgoth, Mercyful Fate etc

Yup. Seems as though the cash cow is getting milked thoroughly. I'm not one to scream "sell out" or whatever the fuck but it does strip away their credibility somewhat.

They've always been productive. Four albums in 6 years, then seemingly endless material by Abscess plus Doomed, Eatmyfuk, The Ravenous... don't really see a major difference here. I for one am looking forward to new material. |
