I have no idea. I always thought of them as a bay area band. John Gossard should be answer this. |
Yes, they were originally from Downey/Norwalk, but they moved to the Bay Area before Kill 'em All.

I'd go with Twisted into Form over this one but you really can't go wrong with either.
Those Violence and Heathen albums are probably my two favs from the bay area. _________________ English adviced by Richard Johnson

Griffin was great and is definitely under-appreciated in comparison to Metallica et al.
Griffin - Flight of the Griffin vs. Metallica - Ride the Lightning (same year of release, same location) probably serves as the epitome of the age-old debate regarding the difference between "speed" and "thrash" metal. If someone asked me what the difference was between these two sub-genres, I would tell them to listen to these two albums consecutively. |

I like some of the more tech/power oriented bands like Flotsam & Jetsam, Heathen and Forbidden but "Bonded By Blood" and "Ride the Lightning" simply crush all other Bay Area stuff. |

Because they wanted Cliff Burton in the band and he didn't want to leave SF ! |
