Alright another attempt: Mordor from Switzerland.

That one I can agree with you on! Not something I play particularly often, but it's pretty dark, morbid sounding stuff! I think their stuff is hard to come by these days though?

Yes I think Mordor's stuff is hard to find, there occasionally pops up a release on shitty ebay. I happened to see this band last night in Tilburg Cool I think they were amazing, but I read bashing reviews only, propably from doped hippies who all went nuts over crap like Krux. Admittedly their dark music doesn't belong in a massive big venue where they weren't allowed to use candles. I spoke with them afterwards and they're really friendly guys who truly appreciate any support. Funny thing is that the vocalist told me they aren't good musicians but what they create comes from their spiritual beliefs. I fully support such an attitude, people who create their art regardless if it's skilled or fanciful. Their demos sound scary and obscure as hell.

Anyway there's my little review , there are livepix on my Myspace Albums Razz What really amazed me are the gruesome vocals which sounded just as inhuman as on the demos, it has to be one of the most extreme vocals I've ever heard. Um yes I do like this band very much Very Happy

Mordor's Dark Is the Future ep is not that hard to find. I've seen it numerous times recently on different label's list for 15-25 euros. Don't have any links now though.
I have Wild Rags cassette of Mordor called Csejthe Odes... I guess it has both demos on it. No song titles or any other information on the cover.
Did not know they are still active.

That always seems the way at doom gigs! I saw Malasangre last year in Holland and they went pretty much ignored, despite being one of the darkest, heaviest bands of the whole festival, and everyone went mad over Forsaken, who I thought were really boring (but nice guys). It seems that the this stuff doesn't strike much of a chord with a lot of people live!

Finally someone who gets my point. Mordor should only play in a very small club where their rituals and music thrives. Everyone went nuts over Krux while I couldn't bear to hear that god awful high pitched clean voice, so I went outside to chat with the Mordor clan, time well spent.

I won't spam this thread any further now Embarassed

I can't find any info on this Mordor.

Personally I'm very much an adherant for 'true' doom. I like bands like Thergothon and doom death bands like Dream Death, Disembowelment and the like. I heard Winter a while back and they were cool.

Anyway Disembowelment and Thergothon are pretty cool and creepy, not sure how 'sick' and 'disturbing' they are thought of as.

Also I'm sure they have, but anyone mentioned Abruptum?

Try here: http://www.myspace.com/mordorswiss The samples don't do them justice though as none of their demotracks are not even uploaded and sound very dark and obscure.

Was there too and it seems only you and me were understanding their music ... peoples were static and they were like " what is this ? " . i think they were fabulous this night , but unfortunately it wasn't enough private to broadcast the particular atmosphere they want .
I spoke to them after the show too , and they told me they wasn't able to use incense , candles and so on because of security rules . Theire show in lausanne was better according to them because they had much more time , it was much more private etc ...
Yeah Mordor have always been more mental than musician , which is pretty rare .

On their myspace you can listen to maharatri , which is pretty dark but not as diverse as their demo Csejthe , you can also listen to Les armées de Sauron which is representative of their unique style , but not as dark !

i don't agree , Krux was excellent . It's definitely not crap .

@ Albin, were you the guy who stood next to me with the dark long hair? I only saw one other person at the front who seemed to enjoy their set. They videotaped the show but I doubt we'll be able to get a copy, I can always whine about it ofcourse Laughing
I'm glad there is at least one other person who understands their music.
Ofcourse Krux aren't crap musicwise, good musicians and all but I cannot stand that type of doom at all. And I admit I am very ignorant and narrowminded when it comes to taste.

Btw there are songs from the Mordor demos on their Myspace on the Last FM playlist in the Musicsection.

Yeah I'm this guy .... The only one standing before the stage right after the previous band . I've read some other reviews of the festival and a lot of peoples didn't understand and said that it was the worst band of the night hahahhaha ... I wanted to see them since my childhood so ...
