I even find the first two albums snoozers. Never could enjoy them.

That's what it's all about. You don't care about Satyricon and I don't care about Horna (just example, first name in my mind right now) Very Happy

Judging by the 'My Skin is Cold' ep this new album is more commercial Satyricon 100% all the way. Wink

Rebel Extravaganza to me was the last of the excellence. What came after is good, they are just not part of the hateful and demonic crew they may have arisen from anymore if that makes sense. Catchy and rocking for sure. Very commercial is the best way to put it politely. Wink

Enjoyed everything up to and including Volcano to varying degrees. Now Diabolical was turgid shit. The new track seems to be continuing in that vein. Shame. Still great live though.

I kind of like Volcano some, but my fav is nemesis divina.

Seen Satyr on tv quite a few times, and he is definately not trying to stay underground or kvlt.
I guess he is trying to push Satyricon to fame. Satyricon has even preformed on such televised occations as the official norwegian top 20 summershow with 60 000+ audiences of non-metal teens. The show is an annual and no cost event.

Satyr really wants to turn Black Metal into a form of pop. I think he has a secret vendetta against Black Metal, for all the times him and Frost was kicked out of Helvete as a teenager.

Can't say I like the new Satyricon as much as the old (Shadowthrone, Dark Medaevil Times) but I'm still partial to Volcano every now and then, but fair play to Satyr for pushing the band as far as he can.

I can understand wanting to make large amounts of $$$ and be wicked rock stars, however my only complaint or argument is why not try to do it in a respectable way ?

By this I mean, quit trying to look like fags, with this trying to look like Trent Reznor, and maybe just adapt a Motorhead look or any number of other normal straight males.
Ihsahn is guilty of this as well.

What the hell happened to these guys ?
Since when did they want to be a cross between emo and goth ?

Satyr looks like Kyle Maclachlan in that photo.

True, manly straight men don't make much money in the music business. Wink

Frost get thumbs up from me though, a down to earth guy, dedicated
to black metal.

I haven't heard much from "Now Diabolical", but Satyricon has a few
really good albums in their discography.

I couldn't give a shit if a band changes style, dress, sex, whatever if they still produce good music. Sure Now Diabolical was very different to The Shadowthrone, but they're both heavy metal, and they're both good.

Hm, do you feel an itching up your ass while looking at their new pics? Wink

Dark Medieval Times didn´t age well for me with its mixture of beehive-sounding guitars and accoustic pling-plong passages.
