New HIC IACET 7" EP (Hells Headbangers)

Pressed on black vinyl and 100 copies on swamp green vinyl with black splatter.

The mysterious Spanish entity of HIC IACET is rumored to include various movers 'n' shakers of the underground, and also equally rumored to be a solo-project of one supremely sick individual. Five members or none, HIC IACET's debut demo Hedonist of the Death floored anyone who heard it last year with its otherworldly miasma of morbidity and darkness; so hotly tipped was it that HELLS HEADBANGERS' exclusive 12" vinyl pressing of 333 copies sold out almost immediately. Now, HIC IACET emerges from the funeral fog to stake their claim as one of underground metal's brightest/darkest hopes with the two-song Prophecy of Doom 7" EP. Just like its namesake, Prophecy of Doom is a cavernous womb/tomb of pestilence, echoing sepulchral bellows from nameless depths. Meanwhile, morbid black/death barbarity rots the soul from the inside out as the carnal is ravaged in kind: behold HIC IACET's Prophecy of Doom!

They're one of the best Black/Death bands do come out of Spain since Teitanblood. Absolutely crushing low end with the bass high in the mix.

I have the 'Hedonist...' tape and wasn't really floored by it or anything. Decent band though, might check out the 7" when it comes out.

I remember when the guy behind Hic Iacet posted here and he made a thread about the debut EP. I think it ended up with some insults being traded on top of the tapes. Humour aside, fantastic project.

Hedonist of Death was the best demo of 2011. This is mandatory stuff for me. Really looking forward to hearing this.

One of the riffs from that first sample sounds like the opening riff of Necros Christos' Necromantique Nun... I didn't listen to the rest of the song.

I thought the demo/12" was good. I do agree with the above poster that the 7" cover is a bit generic. Snakes the triangles replaced yesterday's goat dude.
