Was anybody here ever so bored with life that they decided to explore the obscure world of Venom without Cronos? Albums like "Prime Evil", "Temples of Ice" and "The Waste Lands", which I saw on CD in a record shop recently with a $150 price tag! Ha.
Old Venom is some of my favorite music of all-time and I consider the first two vastly superior to most shit. But I admit that I never even gave "A Calm Before the Storm" a listen. With song titles like "Muscle" and "Metal Punks", I don't really need to, to know it sucks. |

If you don't want to bother checking out the single albums by VENOM not featuring Conrad, I'd suggest you to check out that compilation double album, which came out a couple of years ago, namely "Kissing The Beast". You are better off ignoring the 2nd disc though, which features VENOM classics re-recorded by the then current line up. Useless like toenails in my book... When it comes to the original recordings, while -of course- not on par with the eternal classics, it's pretty solid & cool stuff nonetheless, although I'm admittedly not listenting to those on a regular basis as well, though. Hey, despite some corny songtitles and lyrics, I think there's some great stuff on "Calm Before The Storm"! Also check out, the unreleased tracks of the "Calm..." line-up on the "In Memorium" compilation! Shit like "Nothing Sacred" or the even more commercialized version of "Under A Spell" are aweseome, but maybe I'm losing it here by now... _________________ "Slit my eyes, for they'll remember..." |

That "The Wastelands" CD has some ace songs on it, though also some fillers. It's some of the best stuff since "Possessed". _________________ Tradelist + Good Traders:
