How so? Just asking...[/quote]
The drumming: the blasts are not well executed at all. Compared to most black/death these days where the drumming is tight and machine-gun/artillery like. I have a hard time explaining this in English, how the drummer is sometimes slightly delayed/late, I assume they didnt use a click (?) to record it. The rhythm is not very accurate and "square" it often varies during the fast parts, slowing it down etc
It has its own charm in a way, since it feels alive/natural/organic as with the snare which is very loud on slow parts because the drummer could hit the snare with more force _________________ DISJECTA MEMBRAE plays Vomitive Doom

I have completely missed this thread.
It is going to be re-released on Nuclear Winter actually. Definitely on LP, maybe on CD as well... _________________ www.nuclearwinterrecords.com |

No way...
ANASTASIS IS DA MAN.
ANASTASIS FTW.
it makes perfect sense that YOU are doing it. Possibly the best label for that release actually.
I can't believe it, that's fantastic news, you made my day...
Any ETA? _________________ DISJECTA MEMBRAE plays Vomitive Doom

I've noticed it too and kinda guessed you were talking about this issue, hehe.
While the drummer is indeed having hard time to execute his parts "perfectly" - which isn't that big surprise, given the otherwise berserk drumming (I acknowledge there are drummers who could do this without blinking an eye) - for me, however, this clumsiness is exactly the element that gives the album its charm. Or at least a big part of it. To my mind this clumsiness gives the album similar feel of authentic rage/anger that is present in some of the more violent hard core/grind core albums. I don't think there are that many death metal albums that have this sort of element of anger that (partly) render the standards of musicianship pointless. I'm not sure I can make my point any better, but this is more or less the thing that fascinates me with this album. I understand perfectly it isn't everyone's cup of tea though.
I asked because I'm curious to hear how people feel about the slightly primitive feel of this album. I for one am obviously intrigued by it. I don't mean to say that clumsiness is always a good thing, however. There are plenty of cases in point in this respect.
