It's really just out of curiosity. Alrighty, that's the story... I've bought quite a large selection of Mute releases like Diamanda Galas, Laibach, Nick Cave and so on from a British online second hand vinyl store recently and was quite curious as all came with a sticker saying property of Scott Piering / Music Media Management, London. Boy-oh-boy, this dude obviously had an awesome collection of real quality stuff and I'm wondering if any of you has ever heard of this guy and Music Media Management.

Great acquisition. Some of my absolute faves...

I really like Macbeth, Opus Dei, and Nova Akropola, though pretty much all Laibach is A OK in my book. I saw there is a new Diamanda Galas album too which I must check out. People who like Abruptum should check out 'The Litanies Of Satan' or 'Saint Of The Pit'. It's NOT the samelll so much more extreme.

Yes, femme fatale Galas' voice almost lacerates one's ears, especially on "The Litanies of Satan". The whole recording is a pitch-black monster which lurks to hunt one down. Frightening! I'm really lacking for words when it comes to the art of Diamanda Galas, but it's truly extreme in its best sense of putting the listeners teeth on edge. It's her releases from 1986 to 1989 that stand out as pinnacles of dark and obscyre music imho. Don't like the stuff after that period that much or let's say not for the qualities a totally hostile "The Divine Punishment" spews forth with every single note and scream.

'nother overwhelmingly sinister release is Scott Walker's "The Drift". I just can't listen to this record straight from the beginning to the end as sth. about it totally ties one into knots. It's like the record could see into one and plays all the doubts and fears against oneself. Kinda scary!

Those are the darkest sounding, together with Krst Pod Trigavlom.
Personally, I find the whole concept of NSK highly intriguing. To me, also the newer releases work for me like "Volk" - lots are put off by the shift in aesthetics but when viewed against the backdrop of their equation of politics as art it makes sense: Today we donīt have politics staged with the traditional tropes of power and totality but as a pop music show with a nice sugary coating.

Scott Walker is great for sure - did anybody of you already see the documentary about him?
I have to confess I also like his early music very much, hehe.
