IMPORTANT, VITAL AND VISIONARY FROM NACHTMYSTIUM. A modern BM-classic.

From the opening Black Sabbath like «One of these Nights» it`s obvious that this is not your midlle of the road, walk down the pot-holed BM road.(I am doing this fast so it might not be elegant, sorry)

The Americans of NM are combining the claustrophobic darkness of Mayhem anno «De Mysteriis Dom Sathans» with Pink Floyds tone language and psychedelic arrangements.

In an extremely good way we might add.

"Assasins" is a song that twists and turns between alarmingly, brutal riffs and pulsating, meditating motifs. «Code Negative» cooly unfolds with flattering guitar melodies and whispered vocals.

It is to sum up something of a revelation to spin «Assassins: Black Meddle Pt. 1»

IT`s been a long time since BM has felt this vital, important and visionary. Fans of our own DHG will find something here, guaranteed.

OK that`s about it , cutterofgums

I'm still quite amazed that the new Nachtmystium got full score by Dagbladet.

Well, even though Nachtmystium is not all that in my book, Torgrim Řyre(also does the Hole in the Sky festival with Ivar from Enslaved) usually calls em as he sees em. I usually do not agree, but that is besides the point.

It's right there in the album title:"Assassins: Black Meddle Pt. 1"

"Meddle" was the 1971 album from PINK FLOYD that helped them break out in the UK, and eventually the world...
