| Does anyone know the backstory on this release (the original Unisound one)? I know the Drape consider it a bootleg/unauthorized, but that confuses me a little. As far as I know Unisound is a legit label, and they did release "All the Witches Dance"... did they just not have permission to do a new compilation for the band? Or not have permission to "Into the Drape" specifically? |

Unisound is far from a legit label. They ripped off pretty much everyone on earth including Mortuary Drape. The band considers it a bootleg because Unisound does not have rights to the recordings anymore. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. | Well there is an official version out now that is supported by the band, I think it has a live bonus track from a couple years ago. |

| Maybe so, but I'd rather support an official copy rather than a bootleg. I try to avoid bootlegs as much as possible. |

I have the official copy - unfortunately due to an error it's missing the last track from "Into the Drape." It's a fine release otherwise, though I do prefer the bootleg layout also.
At this point I don't think there's any question of "supporting" the bootleg since it's long out of print. The only person you'd be supporting by buying it is the person selling you their personal copy. But if you want to support the band too, buy both. I ended up doing that because I couldn't find "Into the Drape" by itself and I wanted that missing track. |
