This is the same kind of thing people around here make fun of in Brutal/Technical Death Metal. The album is decent no doubt, but man, it's a long album and it doesn't draw me in completely like an album should. It should really be half as long as it is... maybe I'm just bad at listening to it. _________________

I can completely understand that point of view. It's totally overwhelming and yes, pretty long (those last two tracks are fuckin epic riff-trains), but it's done with killer style and execution. The right hand technique on the guitars is flawless. Sure they could've benefited from splitting it up into a couple of releases, but overall I think they have something that most bands lack these days. Especially in the vein of thrash metal. Shit, I just heard it for the first time, so maybe I'm just gettin' all retarded fanboy. It definitely stands out. I'm a sucker for bands like this that actually record well also. |

I like this album. I just can't really get into the super tech stuff in there. I saw them live and bought the cd after they ripped live but the album just isn't as good as the live set. If the album was shorter and less techy it would fucking kill... Plus they were super nice dudes. The guitar the singer plays is fucking nuts...

My thoughts exactly. When I saw it, it reminded me of the gun from duck hunt. _________________

I would really like to hear this album without the leadguitar parts. |

didn't see this thread until now. crazy album. maybe a bit long and overwhelming, but I have the feeling it might still grow a bit. right now it feels a bit like the first three songs already said it best.
a good side effect is that it makes me want to listen to more immediate bands. the last Hellish Crossfire fits that bill well. killer in a totally different way than the first one. 'Orgasmic Rush'! |

I'm listening to Black Future right now.
I'm really enjoying it so far, giving me a strong Rammer vibe, with a bit of Cracked Brain/The Antichrist era Destruction thrown in the mix.
Not bad, not bad at all, seeing them at KiT next year should be fun. _________________ Tales from the Ezra Brooks cycle... |
