I had a theory that if the US postal service used electric cars for their smaller vehicles for the around town mail box deliveries they could keep their costs down. I mean those things donít need to reach any max speeds or anything so I donít see where the need for a gas engine would be. Of course the larger freights for cross-country and state trips would still use gasoline due to the distance and size of delivery. Itís just a dream though.

i'm sure if the small vehicles were electric it'd cut costs by a lot. i live in a small town and there's at least 10-15 of those things.

I can't see this happening soon since it would cost so much to buy the electric vehicles in the first place. Maybe when hybrid prices drop...

i was at the post office again today and the lady said the stamp price will only increase by 1 cent making it cost 42 cents to mail a letter. i'm not sure how much they will increase packages though. hopefully not too much.

About how much it costs to send a LP from US to Europe? I just sent one LP in registered airmail to US and the postage was 24 euros/37$ because it weighted 507 grams. Under 500 grams would have been 15,10 euros. I am starting to feel the pain of all you people/labels who trade a lot.

There is a $10.15 US fee for registration, and then the weight of the rest of the package shipping weight.

2 Vinyls and 3 CDs without cases registered to Ukraine cost me about $30.00 USD
One DLP and One gatefold LP plus packing to germany first class was about $20.00 US.
