Anyone into that band? I think they are one of the pioneers when it comes to nordic sounding Black Metal from Germany.
Any opinions, reviews etc? _________________

I had a lot of contact with Schiekron years ago. Always liked Ungod. I had some adv tracks they recorded for a new release which never came out. which was a shame because they sounded fucking great. will look through tapes and see abut putting it up here
Circle Of The Seven Infernal Pacts is fucking great
what happened to Schiekron anyway? |

One of the VERY few Black Metal bands from Germany that I like.
Old unreleased advance tracks would be interesting for sure.
But to be honest, their mcd was already so-so, not as good as the debut.
I also think they were not that northern sounding (luckily). _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.

I like them! Total cult for me! Ungod was one of the first interviewed bands for our 1st issue in 1996!!! |

I am good friend with him since more than ten years. Just yesterday I had him on the phone and we talked about some "business shit". Those advance/rehearsal tracks you mentioned I will get this week on CD!
Debut album is a fukkin' killerthriller with all these melancholically sounding riffs and the killer atmosphere. People should have in mind that the album celebrates 15th anniversary this year...
Schiekron always remained the same. I know he is hot to do music, but time is limited, also he sees no sense to do Ungod only with himself being an original member. He is in steady contact with the first vocalist, but they simply do not archive to go on with composing music, which is a pity... _________________

Old unreleased bonus-tracks will be used for a future release. But bad luck for you, it will be the mini-album, which is a brutal killer, imho!
Please specify what sound you have in mind, whilst listening to their debut? I think it is absolutely NORTHERN sounding...
The vinyl release of the mini-album is delayed since over 5 years, but it will be released quite soon. Autopsy Stench failed to release that cult stuff, even if everything else was finihsed (layout, new cover). The cover/whole layout was done my the NECROMANIAC guy. As Schiekron told me, it rules - and it is (fortunately) a b/w painting _________________

I think they had a bit of their own sound really, slower and maybe more melancholic than most letīs say Norwegian bands from that period if you know what I mean - more mystic in a way.
Anyway, it will be a good idea to make this an Ungod-day, hehe... think I will start with the debut, then the mcd and then the splits.
If the unreleased tracks are good I might pick them up whatever release they will be included on. _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.

yes, the Ungod / Baxaxaxaxaxaxaxa Split LP is their best in my opinion followed by the Debut LP. The Split with Desaster and the Split with Sadistic Intent rule as well. |

Yes, but the thin guitar sound etc. and the whole sound/atmosphere reminds totally to Scandinavian bands (<--- therefore absolutely "Northern Sounding" in my ears).
I will get these songs this week. I will check if they are just rehearsals or previously unreleased songs (<---- would be killer). Those bonus-tracks will be released on the vinyl release of "Conquering what once was hours" (<---which I am (again) listening a lot within the last weeks, not only because I missed to set up my MP3-Player with more music, but because it really kills. The vocals, bass, timing changes and all riffs are simply said, KILLER!) _________________

I think the demo on the Baxaxaxa split is brilliant, better than the debut, at least the recording itself, and Baxaxaxa is great too. |
