| 1976. My father was blasting Motorhead loud while I was sleeping in the cradle (which is the reason for my Lemmy disliking) and mom used to sing 'Paranoid' as lullabye. |

| I started by getting into Guns N'Roses as a pre-teen in the late 80's/early 90's. |

I stuffed a copy this Iron Maiden lp inside my friend's denim jacket. I was 10, too. _________________ There is a country called Tír na N Óg, which means the Country of the Young, for age and death have not found it; neither tears and loud laughter have gone near it. I'm sure I got the worst story of all! hehe
When I was 12 in 1999, I saw Woodstock featured on Musique Plus (kind of french canadian MTV). Metallica, Korn, Limp Bizkit among others were playing. I liked what I heard so I bought the albums of the mentionned shitty bands while dowloading songs from Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, AC/DC, Megadeth and the likes. I bought every Metallica record from the most recent (being S&M at that time) to the older ones. I loved the first albums, especially the guitar sound, the heavy distortion. Then a friend of my father showed to me old Slayer and Sepultura video bootlegs. I couldn't believe what I heard. I was hooked. I was about 14. One of my friend's father then talked to us about Razor, Destruction and Kreator so we all checked them out. Then it never stopped. I'll soon turn 21. _________________ http://www.riotor.ca

Despite the fact that since the age of +/- 5 I was listening to my big brother's Soviet Rock tapes and liked them more than any other music, I wasn't exposed to Metal music until some classmate in the 9th grade suggested me that I give a listen to Iron Maiden's POWERSLAVE CD. I couldn't believe how heavy and fast "Aces High" sounded! I was shocked and got addicted to this band immediately! (And they're still my all time favorite band on Earth!)
Later, some friend of mine gave me Metallica's "Kill 'Em All", Megadeth's "Rust in Peace" and Black Sabbath's "Master of Reality", which I also liked a lot. Later I discovered some more classic Heavy & Thrash bands, but only 2 years later I started to like Death Metal and some Black Metal too. |
