All I have by them is the Tristesse demo I'm afraid. Wasn't too into it back then and not really today either. I have heard that Tragedies was somewhat better though. Started listening to loads of old doomy shit lately, like old Unholy, Bethlehem demo and ep, Winter demo. Downloaded the Worship lp..still don't know what to make of it though. |

Tragedies is alright, though I think you're better off listening to Catacombs or Worship and forgetting Funeral... They got a full-time female vocalist and dropped the death vocals completely some time after the guitarist killed himself... probably. |

Tragedies/tristesse are regarded as theyre best works. Fields of Pestilence Grief, is shunned by many, I havent actually heard that one myself. I like Tragedies/tristesse wery well. Those two were rereleased by firebox.fi a couple of years ago in a combo pack.
I also like theyre side project Fallen, but that has more symphonic elements. |

A friend gave me the promo for their latest album called "From These Wounds".
Very mellow melancholic stuff with clear male vocals, comes across like a mixture of My Dying Bride and older The 3rd And The Mortal.
Not bad but probably not what you are after.
But check out Funeral (if you don´t know them already which is probable) from Sweden, good deathly Doom or maybe rather doomy Death. _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.

@ digerdöden:
To my knowledge only a demo, yes.
That got released as a 7" via Pentagram Warfare, limited to 500 I think.
I read about them in Dauthus appendix for the first time and ordered a copy from a German distro, if you want to I can look up the name. _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.

I like their From these Wounds CD a lot. Very doomy, mournful stuff. Like the sad stuff of Lamented Souls. Very very good and awesome production.
And yeah, Funeral from Sweden deliver high-class Treblinka/Tiamat-styled early Swedish Döds Metal. |

Tragedies, I absolutely love! Totally crushing stuff!
Tristesse is pretty good too, but the lead female vocals certainly won't be to everyone's taste. I think they're fairly well done though, and contribute to the atmosphere rather than making it sound gay like a lot of female vocals do in doom.
I'm not much of a fan of their later releases though, I find them a little cliched, and they're not really the sort of death/doom I'm into. |

Yes get the double-cd, there's even some unreleased stuff on it. "From these wounds" is modern doom pop, totally overproduced, no more ultra-slow parts, can't be compared with the old stuff at all. But I like both! |
