I got the Ignivomous 7" and the new Dead Congregation a few days ago, and since then neither have left my stereo. Just thought I'd put up a thread for some praise!
Ignivomous need to release more stuff soon, as they're one of the best death metal bands I've come across in a long time, and I can't see anyone topping Dead Congregation for best death metal album of the year... |

Bold statement even with Arghoslent just releasing their new album. |

Both of these bands are real gems. These are my favorite types of bands coming out of the underground - like the sadly defunct Necroccultus for instance. Dark, twisted, heavy, old school shit. |

I'll have to check that out. I don't make a point of listening to Unique Leader bands, but the last one from Decrepit Birth was pretty sweet. |

Hm, Hour Of Penance definitely delivered great Death Metal on their releases so far so I am curious how their new effort sounds. I think they have more modern influences than Dead Congregation - no problem at all for me but I would say both bands are stylistically apart. Then again, I still havenīt heard the new DC.
Have you heard the Dethroned/Excommunion split released by Butchered Records?
And sorry... but Arghoslent are nowhere near the other groups mentioned here so far.
@ dalecooper:
BIG mistake - by all means also check out Disturbance (you will like the Klasu Kinski samples ) and Pageantry For Martyrs.
Brillaint dark and brutal intense Death Metal fusing old (atmosphere) and new (technicality) approaches. _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.

That Arghoslent lives far away from the other bands mentioned in this thread. _________________ www.UnbornProductions.com

Which spectrum would that be - the positive or negative?
There was no definitive in the previous statement. |

Um, yes - im my opinion Arghoslent donīt match the quality of DC and Ignivomous, I thought that was obvious from my post.
Matter of taste, I guess. _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.

DEAD CONGREGATION are awesome and IGNIVOMOUS are definitely one of the most killer death metal acts I've ever heard, but ARGHOSLENT still blow them out of the water! At least, that's what I think, haha! |

Dead congregation kills, they remind me of the post-dawn of possession Immolation, it takes time to digest before really getting the music. Awesome stuff, will follow this bands progression for sure. |
