This post never will cease !!!
Some question?
If the source of a LP recording is a CD... Does the LP loose audio quality compared to his source?
Could some explain about the theory of audio quality? _________________ http://sapainka.blogspot.com/ |

i know that the recording should get a different master for the vinyl format. the physics of the vinyl itself will cause the music to sound different than on cd.
i'm pretty sure at GZ they'll remaster it for you but that's about as much as i know on the subject. |

this will probably answer some questions:

Analog recordings are closer to the original. Digital audio just takes samples of the original.
Steve Albini's explanation in the video captures it all.
RAZORBLADE EDITING IS KVLT!
When we record, we always record on a 4track tape machine. It sounds full and warm. There was a big difference when we recorded with a digital machine, it sounded cold and empty.
The whole ananog vs. digital thing also has something to do a mentality. Using analog recorders takes up more time but it somehow makes it more authentic. |
