I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, but those guys are fucking clowns. |
My feelings aren't hurt, every person has his own taste. |

I have a good number of those already. I bought a bunch for a couple of bucks a piece at their booth at the Milwaukee Metalfest back in 1999 before people started selling them on eBay for retarded amounts of money. |
Really good stuff they have, even the recent ones which are country specific i.e. Sweden, Japan, Czech Republic.. _________________ Looking for DEATH METAL bands!

Nocturnal Graves!
Maybe the upcoming Dismember should re-dress the balance _________________ Looking for DEATH METAL bands!

Well, with my band I tried to do old school Death Metal, but no retro stuff .
We have some punkish thing going on in some tracks too.
In my signature you've got our myspace address where you can listen to one of our tracks. |

I can understand if someone finds their image ridiculous (I think they pull it off personally), but you can't deny the powerful atmosphere they create. Give them a another chance and listen to them on headphones!!!
Back on topic, some excellent Death Metal bands: Drowned (GER), Mortem(PERU), Negative Plane (verging on the black crossover but essential), Repugnant (SWE), Necros Chistos (GER), The Chasm(MEX) etc etc. _________________ INTO THE DRAPE.. |

Alright, I partially take back what I said about Blood Harvest. I checked out that Karnarium 7" last night and it fucking kills. Total evil sounding, lo-fi, sort of Morbid Angel vibe. Not enough to come off sounding like a copy, though.
Recommended. |

I have not heard the 7", but their compilation CD, Karnarium - "Tänk På Döden" is real good. |

when i think about "unique death metal", Timeghoul come to my mind.
they only released two demos in the early 90's but how amazing it is! check metal-archives for more info. i'm pretty sure you can download this somewhere... |

| They're not quite "recent" and not pure death metal, but DEAD HORSE are always an interesting listen... |

well i have been listening to Cubalt, and they are not bad at all, they have really different feeling about music and lirycs!!!
Maybe this will be a nice example about something different but still with good influences... check it out!
And if it does not work, i think old Death Metal Mobid Angel/Possessed style is the best you can get! |

So yeah, has anyone come along that has actually added something to this genre instead of just rehashing old ideas? When I say unique, I don't mean weird. |
