By the way... is your name a homage to the great hockey player?

indeed!

sure maybe i had a few pops, i stand by everything i posted though.

Being a Blues fan (from St. Louis), I'm quite familiar with Mr. Probert. tough, tough player... not as tough as Twist though.

Do you still live in St.Louis I saw them at the Scott Trade center last year for free and they played for almost 2 hours!

I still live in St. Louis. Too bad the Blues and the Rams both suck right now.... Thankfully we have the best player in baseball (all-time?) right now.

With Mark McGuire being the new hitting coach I predict more steroid induced home runs! Do you ever come out to shows here?

Not as much as I used to... been pretty busy. Still pissed I missed that CC and Hate Eternal show.

ZZ Top fans should really pick up the newest version of "Tres Hombres" on vinyl. Done by Rhino and Warner bros. Mastered from the original tapes by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray.
Apparently the only other version that has the "original" intended mix is this or the original London LP.

"the original "as intended" mix is used just like the original London LP once was. When CD-time came, Bill Ham flogged everything with disco-style remixing. Unless you had that original London LP (which is soaked in compression) this is the one and only way to hear what the band first approved. "

This is interesting, I had a CD released in the late 80ies that had a mix with chunky drums/snare while the LP I have now sounds more "thin" and dry. I always wondered what was the deal with that.

Just grabbed the 'Then & Now' 2 disc dvd a few weeks ago.The show from '80 in ermany is incredible. It is a perfect rock n roll gig.
The show from '08, meh.
But after all is said and done, everything ZZ TOP recorded pre='Eliminator' is pure gold.
