Bird From The Abyss debut album "II" available now

Begin Transmission

Starlight Temple Society is happy to report the addition of "II", the debut album of Finnish ritualistic doom/folk band Bird From The Abyss.

More taken from the official STS site:
____
"Finland's Bird From The Abyss takes flight with their debut album "II", a 40 minute sinister working of doom rock and folk music that will take you on a journey to explore the inner mysteries of the ancient Mediterranean underworld and then send you straight into the heart of the creeping muskeg pits and forests of Finland's mythological past. "II" utilizes a series of authentic classical instruments like the baglama, zither and flute and more modern ones to create a link between our world and one which still dwells in the nexus of time. Bird from the Abyss is the music of Pharaohs and ancient Sumerian kings! Limited to 100 copies on gold CD, with 11"x17" poster, 8 page earth flecked paper booklet and matching 6"x9" printed envelope."

In other news....

-The layout and track line up for the vinyl edition of "P aa opal poere pr. 33" is complete, including the addition of "Vanoria", a previously unreleased number from the "P aa...." sessions. Now we're just waiting on a confirmation from the pressing plant that their boss has indeed not overdosed on ether.

-"Bright Grey Oil Paintings", the upcoming EP from Schrei Aus Stein, has reportedly been "stolen" by Velvet Cacoon. We will be working out this matter post haste to see if that is indeed true and if it warrants a dissemination to the denizens of the galactic empire (regardless of which band name is used to release it under).

[serious black metal]-Nightbringer has partnered with Starlight Temple Society for an LP release containing all rare, demo and unreleased material spanning the band's early years til now, due out within the first half of 2010. More info is imminent.[/serious black metal]

-The STS "white site" is now online. To answer all the conspiracy theorists, there is no further implication meant than that we simply feel white HTML is entitled to just as many rights as black HTML.

-Temple of Notís debut album should be complete before the end of 2009. This monolithic black ambient opus features a symbiosis of the original recordings from 2007/2008 and brand new material recorded by Nightbringer mastermind Naas Alcameth. More info is forthcoming.

-Plans have been made to release Bird From The Abyss' debut album "II" on LP format sometime in 2010. The LP will come with an additional DVD of various material including on camera interviews, video versions of several album tracks and other surprises. In the meantime check out this video version of a new and yet to be released Bird From The Abyss track. It was created by BFTA mastermind JMA. Stop motion animation like in the good old days, very nice!

-Rumors that Starlight Temple Society is purchasing Southern Lord Records are probably false. Rumors that Starlight Temple Society is releasing the new Burzum album are probably true.

End Transmission

Bolt Thrower didn't hold up well at all for me... no desire at all to ever listen to this band again.
