Their demo blew me away. Putrid crawling Funeral Doom of the highest order. The album wasn't bad, not exactly as amazing as the demo.

Does anyone know what this band is up to?
or
Where (or when?) can I finally get a fuckin' Wormphlegm shirt?

Really one of the best bands in the funeral doom genre along with Thergothon and Worship. Too bad that they don't seem to be so active anymore... Really enjoy both, the demo and the LP.

There was a small run of Wormphlegm shirts with the Tomb of the Ancient King design, ain't sure who did it though (Painiac?). I have one with a slightly fucked up printing Mad

The last I heard they were still active but Tyranny had become their main focus for the time. That WAS possibly a couple of years ago now though, so I'm not sure what the score is.

I do remember there was a limited run of shirts that sold out in a couple of days.

Isn't the guy from Hail in Wormphlegm? If so, then they are probably inactive. Last thing I heard about him was that he seemed to be done with music.

I own and really like the LP. Never even heard the demo, I wish someone would put it on vinyl or CD.

Amazing band! Very inspirational (see "137" on Mitochondrion's Archaeaeon for proof hahaha) ... all material is absolutely crushing!

Isnt the demo gonna be released on lp soon? I remember reading that here couple months ago.

The demo is alright, the torturous vocals sounded fresh when they're released. But other than that, I still prefer esoteric for this kind of style.

The call & response / master & slave vocal approach on the demo really does it for me.

"Torture Allah. Burn down Mecca and make him eat all the Muslims."

Brilliant!

It's safe to say I'm not into this funeral/extreme doom stuff, well, almost at all, but Wormphlegm is an exception; the demo is killer.

They've been promising the demo on vinyl for years now. I'd be surprised if it ever happened.

I don't think Esoteric sound anything like Wormphlegm!

what?? Esoteric is completely different in style, it's even hard to imagine how you were able to compare them, hehe.

As for Wormphlegm, I like it very much. Been listening since 2006 and never got bored. Also, their side-project Tyranny is worth checking as well. Very atmospheric bands!

I think were narrowing the choices here since not too many bands sound close to wormphlegm except for straight copycats like senthil or some bubonic prod band etc.. When I said that, I meant for the extreme doom genre.
