any fans of this band? i was listening to the classic rock station i usually have on in the background when i hear this super heavy and evil sounding song come on.. i look and see its Atomic Rooster which is apparently the members of arthur brown's (god father of corpse paint! and all around wacko) band. the song is called "Death Walks Behind You" and is on the album of the same name. released in 1970.... heres the tune

Atomic Rooster are fucking great! The self titled album from '69? even had blast beats! I think the keyboard player from Arthur Browns band was in Atomic Rooster. All of their records have been re-released again a few years back so im sure you can pick them up without to much hassle. |

That piano in the beginning reminds me of the soundtrack of Fulci's "The Beyond".
Does anyone know the name/artist of that painting on the cover?

Death walks behind you is one killer album! i got a dvd a couple of years back with them playing live in a large studio, killer stuff, fucked up looking blokes, the vocalist even eats a sandwich between vocal lines and there chewed food spilling out when he sings. HEAVY! |

Yeah I dig that LP for sure! Paradise Lost did a cover of "death walks..." on a 12" around the "Icon" era... great stuff! _________________ Ashes to ashes

Atomic Rooster is great. Bubble Puppy isn't all too bad.

I use that site to find all that obscure 60's and 70's rock/heavy/psych. Great site. _________________
