Unlike other Asian countries, we were never too crazy about tapes. We used to listen to them because we had no other option before the advent of the internet and online ordering. True fans however found ways to acquire original metal cds even back then.
It's been ages since I last visited a big music store but there were indeed a lot of Indian tape pressings available of Earache, Metal Blade (and one more record label) titles. There used to be cds too available of those labels and Roadrunner, but only for a brief period as apparently most of the fans back then found it very expensive. Then a smartass Indian label decided to have its own pressing of those titles which we unanimously boycotted because of inferior cd quality.
This year I've heard my friends boasting about how they picked up original cds of Malevolent Creation - Retribution, Cynic - Focus and the latest Napalm Death album from over here. You can still buy original Noise Records cds over here I think. Selected Century Media titles too were supposed to be distributed over here, I don't know what happened, never really cared. _________________ Transcending Obscurity webzine and record label (formerly known as Diabolical Conquest, online since 2005)

Weather is pretty mild. Like 50 to 60 degrees with low humidity. Summers are hellish here. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

Was a killer weekend in Berlin. Met a good few people (Yosuke, Patrick Bone Head, chap from Nocturnal, Craig/Dissident, Forster/Sarah, Anastasis from Nuclear Winter, ex Kaamos boys etc etc etc).
Looking forward to the Asphyx gig in March now. I'm 32 on March 28th so I'll be there celebrating...in Death Metal style...oh yeah! _________________
