I am in the process of trying to purchase some new shelves for my collection. I need some tips on what to buy. I checked ikea.com and I found some nice looking stuff there, but don't know how durable it is. Please help. My records are all over, my daughter is tripping over stuff. |

i build all of my shelves. i don't have a camera right now, so can't provide a picture, but these shits are SOLID and they were cheap and relatively easy to build. i can give you pointers if you want. the group home that i work at is full of ikea stuff and i gotta say, it's all fucking junk. |

We bought that one few weeks ago, to archive our back-stock and trade stuff. In that case, I like that.
For my own collection I like my boxes more. I want to leaf trough my vinyls as easy as possible. Just have to modificate them soon (take them a bit higher, height approx. unto the hips). _________________

I think it's best to buy some tools, a jigsaw, plates of wood and a few iron parts to enforce the skeleton, most of the generic stands sold in the stores aren't really built to hold 200+ Kilograms so it's best to build it yourself by the exact measures you need and the necessary enforcement to each and every shelf. |

what weight can you put in this shelf ?
I have my vinyls in banana-boxes (see picture in the collection thread) and these boxes can be up to 30kg per box... |

About 13 Kg each (that's what Ikea states). _________________
