To be honest I don't have the original CD to compare, but this remaster sounds killer to my fucked up and shitty ears.

+1, I went ahead and pulled the trigger

Also the original CD is fucking expensive and fuck CD's in general, so as far it's not brickwalled to death or sourced from shitty files, I'm fine.

Great release but I still prefer the perfection of Mortal Throne of Nazarene AKA the best death metal album ever recorded.

I had no idea this CD was so goddamn expensive! Those early Mortal Throne pressings are still pretty cheap.

Well this (Upon the Throne) was a limited cd even when it was released in 1995, part of the short lived Relapse Underground series, they didnít make a lot of them. They apparently made a good amount of Mortal Throne CDs in 1994.

The original cd was limited to 1000 copies if i recall. I tried buying a copy at a mall record chain in the 90's, but someone cut the shinkwrap and cracked the disc. Make that 999. They also had Abscess "Urine Junkies" CD. Wtf was this stuff doing there? Then I reliably ordered one of the last copies from relapse mail order.

I wonder where this label would be if they never signed Incantation. Hindsight is 20/20, but they had no shortage of bad ideas.

I listened to the track on YouTube last night and thought it sounded awesome.
People love to complain.

I listened to YouTube track, it sounded pretty good, will get the CD.
Still I don't get it, why they remastered an album, that's essentially a ROUGH mix?...

Both are fantastic but the drums on Upon... push it over the edge for me specifically. It's so dingy and crushing.

Because is not an underground label, but a big one who kicked Incantation in 2000 when real DM wasn't cool anymore, and now cashing again on their name because of DM/vinyl resurgence.
And since it's rough stuff, a remaster makes it more appealing to their average customer.

I wonder if Blasphemy will ever be released on vinyl? I remember someone was suppose to do it years ago which for some reason never happened.
