I would like to love 'em as well: great name, great cover, great pictures... but the music is far from being great. Too much keyboards and no japanese sloppy vocals.

About the Sabbrabels debut, No Remorse records had a copy not many years ago for 200 , I was very temped but someone else got it while I was undecided. I regret it now.

Japanese Metal si amazing but most items are expensive as fuck.

Can't stand Japanese metal in general... but there is a few exceptions, like QUEST OBJECT PROJECT 1986 demo:

And of course, MAGNESIUM Time Tells No Lies 7"

Doesn't feel like most Jmetal is expensive outside the few infamous items. I got the first 3 Seikima II on record for under $10 and that's nuts to me.

Been listening to a bit of Anthem lately and dug out my copies. My Restless pressings were done for the US market and have these neat hype stickers on them.

Hey Jesus was pretty damn solid, haven't heard that band before. Gonna try and give those demos a proper shot sometime soon.

Those Anthem hype stickers are great, thanks a lot for sharing. Kinda cool to see how they were described, especially on their debut. "The biggest thing from the East since Godzilla" Laughing

Re: Genocide - Ritual Days, haven't heard this actually, but it doesn't look like much new material. Given how much I love their album, I should definitely take a look and see for myself

you should check the All Night Metal Party..

Aion is 100x better than Mein Kampf. People only fawn over that EP because it is relatively obscure and the band used nazi imagery. I'm not saying it's bad by any means, but Izumi peaked in Aion.

I wouldn't say it's the best release but M.K. is a really fun single & has a cool raw punk vibe. Aion feels a bit slicker, glam oriented, even the early stuff (which I like a lot too). I wouldn't drop a grand or whatever people are paying for it these days but I get why it's such a highly collectible item beside the rarity/imagery.

Glam in what sense? The image? The music is heavier than the Mein Kampf single.

Glam in a sense of this kind of seminal visual kei style. Early Aion reminds me more of early X etc. while Mein Kampf seems to be more influenced by contemporary HC/punk bands to me. There is a lot of overlap between both early to mid 80ies HC & metal in Japan though and other bands besides MK were stylistically sitting between both chairs (GISM & Ghoul for example).

Hard to compare bands by heaviness because it's more a personal feeling than a clear definition. I like them both equally for each of their own things they had going on.
