Venus in Fear, obviously.

Venus In Fear is one of the most scary song I've ever heard.

In my opinion, Venus in Fear is their best intro ever.

Good to see The Twisted Nails of Faith get some recognition, as I've always felt it was one of the most underrated Cradle of Filth songs.

It's time to break out the early Hecate Enthroned after jamming on this for a few days.

I have revisited this LP a lot over the past year and it really is brilliant. I adored this LP (and Vempire) as a teenager and over half a decade later it's just as good if not better (notice new things about it I didn't as a teen, when I liked it for its pure black metal raw attack). Not a wasted second throughout.

I am torn between Thirteen Autumns and a Widow, Beneath the Howling Stars, Desire in Violent Overture, Twisted Nails of Faith, and Lustmord and Wargasm, for my top track. I just don't know what one to go for, frankly.

The thrashy riffing and heavy metal-esque licks in Lustmord and Wargasm are sublime.

These guys are active again and did a show recently. I didn't manage to go but I did see them live a few years ago now (half a decade, easy Laughing). I've struggled with them as they don't seem to have the same level of detail as CoF, as regards their songwriting, though they've always been a good band. I think I have Redimus or whatever somewhere, which I binged on for many months ages back.

Everything past Dark Requiems is a flaming pile of cat piss.

The Best Cradle of Filth sideproject was definitely December Moon.

My favourite will always be "Dusk ..." but I'll have to give "Cruelty..." another chance, I remember really liking it when it first came out.

I do not remember if it was this thread or another but people were discussing the re-issue of this album and whether or not it was going to happen. Dani Filth discusses where they're at with the remix in this interview:

Same here. I may get Vempire... again too. I only kept Dusk... at some point. Later records are cringy though.

Dusk... needs a proper vinyl re-press! This is their best album without any doubts.
