Demeter long sleeves now available.

Euro CDs we'll have next week. US ones are a little delayed.

Oh my, another case of me being way behind of what's going on, so please bear with me if this is all ol' news to you. I've been listening to "The Cursed Travails of the Demeter" A LOT lately, which is why I hit the internet to see what's new with the band, and I've come across Fractured by John Mulvany, a series about Irish bands "that are either currently still going strong, or newly formed bands who are currently pouring their energy into live shows and EPís. Bands that have no interest in making music for the masses, but for those who want something different."

The last episode of Fractured, called "Blood Moon", is a feature about Vircolac, and I really enjoyed it as it gives a nuanced and interesting insight into the impellent and aims of the band, and, probably sounds weird, I can honestly say that I have the feeling of being able to appreciate Vircolac's music even more, if possible, with the given background. Granted, I don't have any clue about filming but I think the whole opening sequence, from the visuals over the music to the spoken words, sets the mood for what's the come perfectly and I particularly like that John manages it to withdraw himself to leave the place to the band.

Thank you for this effort, John, and thank you for participating this open and honest, you guys and gal at Vircolac. Hope to hear more from you in the future!!!!

Do yourself the favour and have a look...

Yep, it was a nice little series.

Funny, I just heard a rehearsal recording today of a new song Vircolac are working on for their album. Very much looking forward to that one.

Also, their bassist Jason has a new band called Sacrilegia who play black thrash and have their first gig this evening with Possession and Coscradh. It's good to have some new blood coming in to the local scene to mix it up.

Shocked

Psyched! Good to know that they're working on a full-length.

Yeah, this is so good. Definitely a lot of innovation. What a creeping vibe!

Yeah, they have a really unique buzz. Gothic and dark but not in an obvious way (although I'll be disappointed if Darragh isn't wearing a frilly shirt tonight).

I can highly recommend this serie for anyone interested in the current Irish music scene: Vicolac, Malthusian, Invictus Productions...

For example, check out Mr. Darragh at work:

Couldn't find a thread for Codex Perfida, but any plans for a vinyl reissue of it?

We're recording a full length beginning October 11th for release on Sepulchral Voice/Dark Descent in early 2019.

Once that's out, we'll look at doing a vinyl version of Codex (finally) then.

That's fucking great news on the album! And hope a vinyl of Codex will come as well, among the better *demos" the last few years in my opinion!

Cheers! Yeah, looking forward to getting the LP recorded. Most of it is written now. Only a few bits to tidy up here and there and vocals to add to some of the newer songs (we've already played 2 new ones live).

Exclamation
Bump for one of very few newer bands of their ilk to my liking, personally speaking, let alone from Europe/Eire!

The album is recorded. We finished it last Wednesday. Mixing commences tomorrow, which will be finished later in the week.

The plan is to present a track along with the artwork and track listing in early December then.

There are 7 tracks and it comes in at a nudge under 40 mins.
