Anything except really doom works. Stuff with guitar solos is cool. Nothing like doing a final sprint and then a crazy air guitar solo Cool.

Fatherland LP makes it impossible to give up. I've listened it at least 40 times while running this year.

I agree except for the first track on "Tomb of the Ancient King" by Wormphlegm and "History of Hell (Crippled Lucifer)" by Burning Witch. For some reason those two tracks just make slog through whatever kind of shitty run I had to do.

Bolt Thrower - ...For Victory is the ultimate pump you-up album for running. Shit gets me fierce.

Paysage D'Hiver. Good for spacing out and running.

Serious question: How do you start?

I used to run. Growing up was always playing sports. Even ran track in High School. I lift weights and work out but just have not put on my saucony's. Recently tried a treadmill and was bored by the time the thing got fast enough to even start running. Really want my cardio to improve. It was always something very easy for me. I could run and was fast. Now after years of abusing myself it isn't.

I've found having a good app helps (the free mapmyrun app by UA is pretty good). That way you can get used to distances and learn how to pace yourself. I'd recommend starting with like 4-5k runs and then working up from there. Treadmill sucks but I force myself to do it when it's not running weather, I think sticking with it is the most important part.

I used an app called couch 2 5k here in the uk, in 9 weeks I went from non runner to running 5k three times a week, which I am slowly building on, I use the map my run app as well which is great, apart from the soundtrack I mention and justice for all is fantastic to run to, as is show no mercy.

I just shuffle and set it on shuffle ( hey!)

I find MA's Covenant or Formulas... to be good though!

Covenant is one of my GO TO running albums, as well as Blessed...

Recently started back up running again after a long hiatus. Besides the previously mentioned it's been Dead Kennedys Plastic Surgery/In God.. plus Bedtime for Democracy. And Harmony Corruption, Damned in Black and Blood, Fire, Death.. oh and Kings of Metal the other night!!

Thorns S/T, Aosoth, Plaga are also pretty sweet while running.

Edit: Also absolutely necessary to invest in some good wireless headphones and something to hold your phone in. Freeing up your hands and not having the fucking cord to deal with will change your life.

I've had the apple ones for two years and they're great. I was very skeptical at first but I'm impressed. They're not like the earbuds, which always fell out for me. Obviously everyone's ears are different, but in terms of durability they're the longest lasting headphones I've ever had. The remote little charging egg thing is awesome too. 3-4 hours of continuous play, and you can fully charge them in 5-10 minutes.

Thanks. I'm finding it hard to just start. In a sprint I'm still good but keeping it going...I've even thought about joining one of those Hit-Fit style gyms just for the group setting as I've seen them running around. The group setting might keep me wanting to go while alone it seems futile. Might need the competition.
