You got a point here.

I also noticed the terrible job they did at "making" the Deluxe Box Set Edition of "To Embrace...", as if you look closely enough you can still see the partially erased JI logo in the upper left corner of the painting behind the upside down cross, as well as the partially erased album title in the bottom left one.

These guys seem to be big on giving their releases that "DIY flare", even though they end up looking like amateur-ish Photoshop edits.

Who looks at this and goes "Yep, that looks good, let's slap our record label's name all over it and send it out..."

I mean fuck, have some pride in what you're doing if you're going to do it...

Well it's logical follow up for Sombre style "my first photoshop" covers.

This just shows what I was thinking all along, this guy has no treasure trove of original JI-files that he received from Andrew for the sake of re-releases. All he got are files from other labels most likely, for example the DAT-tapes that Rob / Elegy handed over.

Putting aside the 'character' behind AMM and his past, I ponder why a reputable label like NWN would want to do a joint release with a label which has been exposed for rolling out the poorly executed DISN fraud. Assume the wheels are in motion for HIF and it is too late to pull out. Also seems odd that it is a split release - is it because AMM is holding out it has the rights? Assume if the release was covered by EAL/RS you'd deal with them rather than having to involve the 'character' and his label. Lastly, is this the first NWN split release since working with War Hammer?

Good point.

Yet I have another question, if the Judas Iscariot demo is actually featured in its original form on "An Ancient Starry Sky" CD/LP already, why the need for AMM to release it as well as separate CD?
That makes absolutely no sense.
Or am I missing a difference between these two releases?

Some releases were split with Iron Bonehead I think. Darkness Attack.. Plus I have something pending with the boss himself.

Neither approval nor license from No Colours, according to Steffen.

Not surprising, since Blake already stated he hasen't contacted Steffen, but will send him Lps worth about 1000$ of this pressing for compensation.

Yes, he said that, but also:

Quote:
At this time, everything has been officially licensed through Red Stream Records (redstream@aol.com), Elegy Records (mailorder@elegyrecords.com) and No Colours Records (info@no-colours-records.de).

Confused

Found this on discogs about the DSN Bootleg :

"Blake was spotted on Instagram asking for pictures of the center label (now why would anyone ask about those, other than for bootlegging purposes? Check it out: https://abload.de/img/asdfasdf2pqc8.jpg )"

I know it will be hard for some "only vinyl is real" clowns looking for kkkult collector items but just don't support these reissues if you support JI

They just blew up the CD cover and somehow pasted (with MS Paint??) the Logo on the cover, but it is also the same as on the CD Version because it is missing the pentagram Right under "Iscariot" which the LP Version had.
So, this is a badly blown up scan.

If it is so, it'd be also logical to expect the covers to look highly blurry and pixelated, since they had to pretty much stretch the scanned cover from the size of a CD cover, which is 12 cm x 12 cm, to the size of a Vinyl record cover, which is about 31,5 cm x 31,2 cm.

I've also noticed that these poor and amateur-ish Photoshop graphics are not only endemic to their JI re-issues, but to ALL the records they have released. Take a look at the Leviathan records for instance, and those are not even re-issues.

AMM should really get in contact with some seriously competent graphic designers and have them working on their future releases because the ones they have been working on so far look bad. Like "8-year-old drawing Pepe The Frog in MS paint on WinXP" level of bad.

From my eyes, an artist is asked to compose and record the music, while a record label is asked to have someone competent enough to put all the graphics together and then send the records to press, plus putting the said music under license and copyright and all that fancy stuff. I know it sounds way too simplistic, but there are other labels that have been releasing records by BM bands for decades now. It doesn't look too hard, so try to get THAT right.
