Damn, I would have loved to see SOL back in their "black metal" days! I don't really care for the direction they've taken on their last couple of albums.

Yeah i've got VHS footage of the gig i've been wanting to transfer to dvd. It was a killer night, the stage was situated so that the drummer was practically sitting outside on the footpath, you can see council buses and other traffic drive behind lee as they played!

Dissection's last show is probably the one that means most to me.

Seeing Metallica twice playing secret gigs to 500 people was amazing (even if it was only in 95 and 97)

EXCEL and PHANTASM in the same show was craszy exciting for me. I had neve heard either band, but was blown away by their intensity. I did my first ever stage dive during PHANTASM, and ended up singing "WE _ ARE _ EXCEL !" at high school all day the next day.

I went to Austin to see Demilich and Biolich when they were touring a few years back. im a big fan of biolich so seeing them was awesome. I was blown away from Demilich because it sounded as if someone just pressed play on a cd...

awesome as shit...sucks both bands disbanded.

Watain without doubt number one....

Yeah, I saw them on their recent US tour with Angel Corpse, Nachtmystium, Negative Plane, & Gravewurm, and they were pretty fucking intense.

What part of North Carolina do you live in? I live in Hickory, but I was unable to make it to the Watain show in Winston-Salem.

I'm not really that into old school hardcore too much, but this Japanese band called Hammer came here to Athens, GA in the summer of 2005 and played an insane set in a shitty DIY venue (a former pool hall) we used to have here that was about the size of the average living room. I almost hate to admit it, but no metal band I've ever seen has matched the sheer intensity of that night.

For utter class, Dio on the Killing the Dragon tour is probably the best my young eyes and ears have experienced.

The best band I ever saw was NIFELHEIM at Party San 2006, followed by many others but the best show I've been to, at least in recent memory was the Nuclear Gathering of the Legions of Doom. Total Satanik worship night.

DESASTER + WITCHBURNER + NOCTURNAL + METAL INQUISITOR + FLAME - Hellbangers Moselfranken 10th anniversary in Koblenz, Germany (too bad Zarathustra had to cancel)

RAZOR + EXCITER + ANVIL + PILEDRIVER + AGGRESSION + DBC - Montreal Metal Massacre 2005

SACRIFICE - DOD II

PENTACLE + RAZOR OF OCCAM + DENIAL OF GOD - United Metal Maniacs 2007

These were magic nights.
