Just remembered Absidia. German metalcore like Day of Suffering and The Year of our Lord but a bit more sloppy.
I had this cd and kinda regret getting rid of it now.

Here's another one I listened to quite a bit in the late 90s, God Loves, Man Kills by One King Down: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1LyQbA6I_k0

I never got into their "defining" album, Bloodlust Revenge but am gonna give it a shot as they have a pretty nice looking re-mastered vinyl reissue up for pre order.

Really old Eighteen Visions video, Lifeless era, 1996, so different even from when I first saw the in 1998, James vocals are super heavy, cool to watch: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OpcXn282JFE

Great album for the gym, very stomping.

As Darkness Falls from New Jersey just came to mind. Good stuff from the mid to late '90s. One of their better tracks was on the Definitely Not the Majors comp on Bush League Records, who also put out their 7".

All Out War - Claim Your Innocence
Grimlock - Mad Titan
Strife - Waiting
Harvest - In The Eyes of Decay
Disembodied - Seven Stitches
Trial - Reflections
Turmoil - Playing Dead

I liked that one a lot at the time but not sure I'd be into it these days. Haven't heard that band in years. IIRC the later lineup after BR had a different vocalist and they went more in a Xtian/hardline direction which turned me off.

Jihad was a very underrated band from the 90s

Seen them once at the 1st Cleveland fest and they were incredible

Pretty sure they have a 7 and a split 12

One of the guys from that band ran Makoto Records which put out some stuff by Thoughts of Ionesco, including my favorite by them, A Skin Historic. The label later went down in flames due to a preorder scandal where they didn't deliver.

Don't think anyone's mentioned Ire yet. Another heavy crust/ hc/ metal blend active during the mid to late 90s, and most of their recorded output absolutely stood the test of time. Some of the members went on to form The Black Hand.

In reverse chrono order (there are a few more, but these are my favorites).

I liked this band at the time also. Never heard their final album or the Bland Hand stuff.
