Harley Flanagan "Cro mags" cd that came out this year.
Definitely one of the best records of pure uncut nyhc i've heard in quite a while.
This fuckin things got everything, razor sharp riffs, good sound/tone and powerful drums.

Cult Ritual and Total Abuse are the only bands I've found exceptional in the last 10 years. Anyone have any recommendations in that direction?

Can't back this band at all. Started off trying to do Hoax, but without any of the punch. Too derivative and at this point what more can they do as a band? Just my opinion.

Forgot to add, lyric wise it's kinda cheesy, but overall it's a ripper!!!

Forgot to mention Zoloa in my earlier post. Others have mentioned them here, definitely backing that recommendation.

For more great recent shit check out Criminal:

Where were you in 2006 - 2010 when that's what every hardcore band sounded like?

Gimme some bands that sound like Merauder and/or Trial. There's some good vegan sxe stuff coming out of Germany. Can't remember any names though.

Not new by any means, but I'm listening to Scapegoat's LP that came out five years ago. What a great record/band. Completely nails a sound so many were going for around that time. It sounds authentic, both musically and anger-wise. Used to listen to the EP every day after school when it came out. Never got to see them. They were booked to play Chaos in Tejas 2012, which I went to, unfortunately broke up right before the fest. I see they started playing sporadic shows again this year, but I doubt they'll make it out of the East Coast.

Back when I was on Facebook I was in contact with a guy from a band called Punching Moses and he was a good bloke with good taste, ended up pretty good mates and he sent me for free a copy of Punching Moses - Impending doom LP. I haven't listened to it yet but I'm gonna use the code it came with to dl the album and check it out now.

Also I've got the Zoloa - Cocolia tape but wouldn't mind a cd copy if there's such a thing.
