Authorized by who? Gegner died 11 years ago...

In any case Njard is the last person who can give approvals until Kaldrad is alive, at least not without discussing that with him. None of that happened, but release is promoted as official. It seems we need "official Bbh statement"! Very Happy

Got another email: "The release issued with the approval of Njard and Ransverdi."

Here's smth about the guy supposedly behind this label: http://geroivoli.com/kuzmenkov-chernobor-yurii

I have been told that neither Njard nor Kaldrad were aware of this release, much less, that they approved it. Go figure! Confused

Me personally:

Forest - Forest (their debut.. all time favorite BBH)

Branikald - Stormheit

lots of it sounds the same, and you can't really go wrong with any of it... hahaha... but these are the standout releases in my opinion!!!

Forest - Like a Blaze Above the Ashes is the quintessential BBH sound for me, but you can't go wrong with the following either:

Branikald - Blikk Av Kald
Branikald - Раздувая тинг ветров
Vargleide - When Only Ashes and Scorched Earth Remain

or any of Forest's output before In the Flame of Glory (not that that's a bad album by any means).[/i]

Seconding the last comment here. Most of Branikald's stuff is great. Especially Kveldulv and Rdjandalir. And nice to see someone mentioning Vargleide as well. Really good. Katarsis and that other Raven Dark-demo that was released a few years ago are great as well. Top notch stuff!

Nitberg's Nagelreid is fantastic, but it doesn't sound like anything else from BBH. That said, even some earlier Nitberg tracks have their moments of greatness. I especially like the split with Volkoten.

Branikald - Kveldulv & Rdyandalir
Forest - s/t & Like a Blaze Above the Ashes
Raven Dark - Verdandi/Berustet av Kriegsdronnet (probably my fave of the lot. For Glory Hat - the best song out of BBH)
Rundagor - Stronghold of Ruin

Plenty of quality releases there but those are the best ones for me. Vargleide is fucking great too.

Seconded, except that Varg Fjerne A Tornet is also essential.

Basically, everything from 1995 to 1997 is mandatory, the rest is an acquired taste.

What is the last track on the CD reissue of the Branikald album "Winterkald"? Can anyone with a copy confirm this?

Be more specific. There are 6 tracks. Last one is outro.
