| I just compress and expand them slightly, since they're just a few millimeters too small on their own. I remove the LPs and sandwich the covers between them, and fill up the empty space with cardboard, newspaper, etc. Since the weight won't affect the postage, I stuff enough newspaper on the top and bottom to where it may as well be solid wood, making the packaging really sturdy. I've sent dozens of packages like this and haven't received any complaints on the condition in which the LPs arrived. I've also sent a large part of my personal collection home to Norway using these boxes, and none of those got damaged either, so I'm confident it's sufficient. |

The post office lets you ship them like that? Doesn't it alter the shape of the box if you expand the width? the width is what doesn't fit for me. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

It alters the shape ever so slightly. They probably don't even notice. Nobody has ever told me anything. I've altered some pretty dramatically, for example when I fit 48 CDs with jewel cases into one of those, but there was no problem at the post office and it arrived just fine.
