Well, if the cd tracks were only 2-3 minutes long each, they would hardly take up any space around the middle of the cd, and then the grooves would be around the outside. It seems like it would work, that is, if you could in fact engrave an actual cd surface, not just the clear plastic template. |

Do you think you could press grooves onto an actual cd, with music already on it? Then you could have the material available in either format, though I guess it would be more expensive to get the CDs pressed, and then engrave them too. But it would be cool, as CDs play from the inside out, so you could have 2 formats on the same side of one disc... |
i used to have wolf eyes "record" that was actually an old laser disc with grooves etched into it by a lathe. |
